All of our cargo handling personnel are well trained and competent to take care of all types of cargo that can be carried on board Pure Car and Truck Carrier (PCTC) vessels. We have developed procedures and best practices for cargo handling to minimise the risk of damage, and are continuously improving our operations so that we can provide the best possible service to our customers at all times. When you leave your cargo in our hands, you can trust that it will be well taken care of.

When transporting your cargo with us, you can be assured that it is safely stowed under deck. This means there is no risk of corrosion, which can be caused by saltwater. Most loading operations are also supervised by one of our Port Captains who ensures that all cargo is safely and accurately driven on board and secured on board the vessel.

Höegh Autoliners was a pioneer when deep sea transportation of cars started in the late 1960's and across 50 years in the industry, we have developed extensive experience in handling rolling cargo of all types. If cargo does not roll by itself, we have the solution for that, using our rolltrailers to transport it on board the vessel.

Höegh Autoliners’ fleet of rolltrailers are specially designed for smooth and safe transportation of breakbulk and project cargo. By rolling cargo on board the vessel, it reduces the risk of damage compared to lifting it. Furthermore, stowing your cargo under the deck means no seawater will reach it during transportation, so you can rely on less costly packing solutions.

Höegh Bridge

The Höegh bridge allows us to easily transfer the railcars from the truck trailer they were transported on to the rail-rolled roll trailer. This process eliminates the need for crane lifting in both the load and discharge ports, making the operation safer and less costly than with crane lifts.

For single trams up to 60 m, two or more railed roll trailers are placed in front of each other and connected with a Höegh bridge. Transfer from road truck to extended roll trailer is performed in the vessel’s cargo hold.
